Waco, TX — A Central Texas Justice of the Peace resigned Tuesday morning, just minutes after pleading to two felony charges of tampering with government documents.
Jean Laster Boone, 59, pled guilty today in Waco’s 19th State District Court.
She was arrested by Texas Rangers in late September for falsifying mileage reimbursement forms.
McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna recommended probation and a $5,120 fine as restitution for the county.
Boone, who had been Justice of the Peace for Precinct 7 since 1999, will be formally sentenced in December.
