Killeen Police were involved in early morning standoff where one person was arrested in the 3200 block of Hereford Lane on Friday.

A 41-year-old man was taken into custody around 4:13 a.m., without incident.

Killeen Police responded to 3000 block of Hereford Lane Apartments, after receiving a 911 call at 1:46 a.m., in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Upon the officer’s arrival, witnesses told them a man was holding a woman against her will. The officers could hear the two arguing inside the apartment and witnesses said there was a possibility of weapons inside. After numerous attempts were made to speak to the residents, the Tactical Response Unit was deployed.

The preliminary investigation revealed a man and woman were arguing outside when the man forced the woman inside the residence.

Witnesses told officers the woman was screaming for help because he would not allow her to leave.

After several attempts, the Crisis Negotiators made contact with the people inside and both agreed to come outside.

The man was arrested and taken to the Killeen City Jail where he is being charged Class C Misdemeanor warrants.

The 27-year-old woman was released at the scene.
