Killeen Police investigate crash that involves theft

Killeen Police are currently investigating a crash that occurred on Trimmier Road after the driver was involved in a robbery.

Officials received a call at 2:50 p.m. Monday for a major crash in the area of Trimmier Road and East Central Texas Expressway.

On arrival, officers found a black car, a gray car, and a Killeen Dump truck in the 1000 block of Central Texas Expressway.

Investigation found that the driver of the black car was involved in a theft at Wal-Mart in the 1400 block of Lowes Boulevard.

Officers found the vehicle in the 2500 block of W.S. Young Drive and when the attempted to make contact with the driver he evaded arrest and a pursuit ensued. 

The suspect traveled northbound on W.S. Young Drive and made his way westbound onto Central Texas Expressway at a high speed. The driver then attempted to run northbound onto Trimmier Road where he failed to turn causing the vehicle to collid with a dump truck a gray car.

The two occuapants in the gray car were taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The name of the suspect has been held pending the Bell County District Attorney's Office reviewing the case.
