Local law enforcement agencies investigating Brazos Valley ATM burglaries

BRAZOS VALLEY -- A string of ATM burglaries in the Brazos Valley has law enforcement agencies from Bryan, Brazos County and Madison County working together to see if they're related.

It's a repeat of the same crime; burglars break into a convenience store after hours to go after the money inside the ATM machines and nothing else.

"They make a considerable attempt to hide their identities in every case and they just break in and attack the ATM and don't try to steal anything else," said Brazos County Sheriff Chris Kirk.

The first burglary happened at the Four Corners gas station in Bryan back in May, the second at the Wixon Valley Country Store in June and earlier this week the Midway convenience store in North Zulch.

Now Bryan, Brazos County and Madison County are working together to solve the case.

"We think we're dealing with a group of suspects that may be responsible for numerous ATM burglaries."

The Texas Rangers have also been called in to assist with the investigation because of other similar ATM crimes throughout the state.

"We're just hoping we can put our heads together and maybe get a citizen to call that might know some information," said Sheriff Kirk. "Maybe then we can bust this case and put these guys behind bars."
