The Central Texas Sickle Cell Association needs your help raising funds this weekend at the first ever Helicopter Golf Ball Drop.

For just $10 per entry, you can enter to win $25,000. Each entry gets your name put on a ball that will be dropped from a helicopter. The person whose ball lands in a hole or nearest the hole will be the winner. All proceeds from the event will help The Central Texas Sickle Cell Association. They plan to use the money to help the more than 500 people in the community living with sickle cell disease.

"That is to help with testing and with education. The education is basically what we do: brochures and Cds and other means by which we can educate people with," said Reverend Eugene Carter, Executive Director of the Central Texas Sickle Cell Anemia Association.

Sickle cell disease causes red blood cells to form a sickle shape, which can lead to these cells breaking and causing other deadly health complications. The ball drop takes place Saturday at noon at the Tee Box Golf Center in Nolanville.
