GALVESTON, TX — A Houston man was arrested in Galveston after his dog died from allegedly being left in a hot car.
At around 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, officers found the owner, 23-year-old Bill Omer, holding his dead pet. Investigators believe the pit bull had been left in the car for possibly an hour and a half.
A necropsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death, but it is believed to be caused by heat exhaustion.
Omer is charged with cruelty to a non livestock animal and his bond is set at $15,000.
