Man killed on train tracks in Bryan

On Monday, the Bryan Police Department responded to a major accident on the railroad tracks near the intersection of 3200 Finfeather Rd. and W. Villa Maria Rd.

Union Pacific railroad officials notified Brazos County 911 that a man had been hit by a passing train headed northbound on the tracks.

The black male was pronounced dead on scene by Justice of the Peace Vera Lara-Hooge. An autopsy has been ordered. No one else was hurt during the accident.

The intersection of F&B Road and Wellborn Rd. is closed due to the stopped train that was involved in the accident. The deceased’s name will be released pending next of kin notification.
