Man rescued from Cameron Park cliff

Waco Police, Fire & Rescue were searching for a man who was reported to have fallen from a cliff in Cameron Park on Friday afternoon.

According to Gregg Lippe, Training Capitan with Waco Fire & Rescue, responders were sent to Lover's Leap in Cameron Park around 11:40 a.m.

Witnesses on a boat heard a man screaming for help and called 911.

Rescue units searched the area and were able to locate the man 20 minutes later.

The man was tangled in brush making it difficult for rescuers to get to him.

Rescuers transferred the man from McLennan Community College ramp to Hillcrest Hospital.

Capitan Lippe said, "If you are hiking in the area please be aware of your footing at all times."
