Man wanted in Alabama, Killeen captured in Copperas Cove

Killeen Police have identified the man who has allegedly broken into numerous convenience and liquor stores over the weekend.

Most recently, officers responded to reports of an alarm at the Planet X Liquor store on the 4000 block of E. Stan Schlueter Loop at around 11:00 p.m Sunday. When police arrived on scene, they found the door had been broken into and liquor was stolen.

Security video showed a black male breaking through the front door with a large piece of cement, then taking several bottles from the business.

Other videos of recent burglaries revealed a similar person breaking into store and taking cigarettes or liquor.

A man fitting the description of the Killeen burglar was also wanted in Mobile, Alabama for a charge of robbery. Information was obtained on the suspect’s whereabouts in Copperas Cove. On Friday, at around 3:00 p.m., members of the US Marshals Office, detectives with the Killeen Police Department and the Copperas Cove SWAT Team served the outstanding warrant on Carlos Demetrius Juzang, 30, at his house on the 1200 block of Walt Morgan Drive. He was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Copperas Cove Police Department.

Juzang is charged with burglary of a building. His bond is set at $100,000 bond. Juzang has also been linked to eight other burglaries in the Killeen area. He is currently in the Coryell County Jail awaiting extradition.
