Mart, TX — A Mart police officer who was placed on administrative leave about a week ago, pending the outcome of what was termed "a criminal investigation", has now been fired.
Officials say the officer was placed on leave last Friday while the Texas Rangers conduct the investigation. The firing came as a result of an internal investigation that showed the officer violated five departmental policies.
Little details are available at this time surrounding what lead to the investigation, other than to say the investigation is on-going. And, the police department has not named which officer is under investigation. However, sources have indicated the officer's name is Matt Adams.
