Milam Co. sheriff's deputies arrest 2 women for cocaine, marijuana

Milam County Sheriff David Greene’s Special Investigation Unit ended a six month long investigation into the trafficking of cocaine from a rural southern Milam County residence.

Sheriff Greene, along with Chief Deputy Chris White, Lt. Mike Clore, Lt. Jay Beathard, Deputies Ray Ortiz, Mike Hoyt, Nathan Law, Highway Patrol Sgt. David Yarbrough, and Trooper J.C. Brooks, descended on a residence in the 5200 block of U.S. Highway 77, south of Rockdale to serve a search warrant obtained after months of surveillance. During the search, deputies located over 50 grams of cocaine and just under a pound of marijuana. Also located and seized was almost 3,500 dollars in cash, as well as two vehicles and a trailer.

Deputies arrested Florida Mae Williams, 24, and Vanessa Dunn, 23, at the scene. The women were booked into the Milam County Jail awaiting arraignment. The two were charged with felony distribution of and possession of cocaine and marijuana.
