On Saturday, September 21, at 4:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the 700 block of Lozano Street in reference to the welfare check of a child.

A caller stated they had seen a child running outside without any clothes on and wanted to remain anonymous.

An officer made contact with a woman at the Lozano Street location who was identified as Elizabeth Cruz, 38. She admitted to the officer she had spanked her son with a belt after he had taken money from his aunt.

The son was visually checked and the officer noticed bruising on his right eye, right wrist and the right upper backside which matched the width of the belt that was used.
