Temple ISD was supposed to break ground today on its newest elementary today, but the event was canceled due to the rain.

The ceremony for the future Scott Elementary School will be rescheduled.

A number of transportation projects along Interstate 35 have also been delayed because of the ongoing precipitation.

Since the showers started on Saturday, the Waco area has received more than an inch of rain and is expected to see another inch of rain throughout this week.

That is sure to relieve drought problems for the moment, and the rain storms could also bring Central Texas 50-degree temperatures since early spring.
