According to national media sources, the National Football League and the players association are in talks to enforce stricter penalties for drunk-driving offenses.

The report states the league wants players who are convicted of such offenses to receive mandatory suspensions.

An announcement on these penalties for those convicted of drunken-driving offenses will not come until the negotiations on Human Growth Hormone (HGH) testing has been finalized.

According to a UT San Diego study, 10 players have been arrested for drunken-driving related incidents since the beginning of 2013.
