Waco ISD will hold a reflection service at 7:15 p.m. Friday, April 26, to celebrate the life of 15 year teaching veteran, Nancy Price. The service will take place at University High School in the front parking lot.

In the event of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the University High practice gymnasium.

Attendees of the service are asked to please use the student parking lot on the west side of the school and walk to the school's main entrance. University High JROTC students will be wearing their uniform during the service. Other attendees are encouraged to wear black or purple shirts.

Robinson police reported that preliminary investigation shows the deaths of the Waco ISD math teacher and her husband were a murder-suicide. Police say Stancel Howard Price, Jr. shot and killed Nancy Ann Price before turning the gun on himself.

Police are still investigating the cirumstances surrounding the discovery of couple's bodies inside of a vehicle Tuesday evening.

According to the police report, it was around 6:38 p.m. when Robinson police received a phone call reporting a male inside of a vehicle who was bleeding. The car was at the intersection of Old Robinson Road and Loop 340. Robinson PD responded to investigate and found the deceased bodies of both a male and female inside of the vehicle, with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.

Justice of the Peace Krisit DeCluitt ruled the pair deceased at 7:26 p.m., and the bodies have been sent to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. Autopsies will be performed there.

On Wednesday, Waco ISD released this statement reguarding the circumstances:

The University High School family is extremely saddened today after learning about the death of one of its beloved teachers.

Math teacher Nancy Ann Price, 48, lovingly known as Coach Price by her students and colleagues, died yesterday evening of gunshot wounds. Her husband, Stancel Howard Price,Jr., also died last night. Their bodies were discovered in a vehicle at the intersection of Old
Robinson Road and Loop 340, less than a mile from University High. Robinson police areinvestigating.

Coach Price was a respected and well-loved Trojan. She absolutely loved her students and was dedicated to her job of giving them a strong foundation in mathematics. In fact, she worked late yesterday tutoring a student, something she had done many times before.

Coach Price came to Waco ISD is August of 1998. A military veteran, Price taught two years at University Middle, four years at Cesar Chavez Middle, and was in her ninth year of teaching at University High School. In the 2011-12 school year, Coach Price was named University High's Outstanding Teacher.

Counselors from throughout the district were dispatched to University High first thing this morning to offer grief counseling to students and staff.

"Just three days ago we were on top of the world having won a state championship in soccer," said University Principal Bill Shepard. "Now we are experiencing the effects of an awful tragedy. Our hearts go out to Coach Price's two sons and other immediate family members.
The Trojan nation is heartbroken.”

This case remains under investigation.
