WACO -- One thing almost everyone can agree on?
It's a blessing that gas prices are going down and staying down, at least for now.
"It's awesome, it's easier to afford finally."
"They've been up for a long time, so it's really time for them to go down."
Even better news for Central Texas the national average is 3.48 a gallon but we found gas as low as 2.98 in Bellmead, fifty cents below the average.
"I like it, it's good for all of us."
"It's still a little high but I'm glad they're going down. Not like it was last year."
That's for sure, last summer gas prices were up nearly a dollar more per gallon.
A AAA survey found when dwindling gas prices help you keep a few dollars in your pocket, many times it's pumped back into the economy through traveling.
"We found that 75 percent of those people polled in our survey planned at least one summer trip this summer. That's actually up more than 3 percent from the same time last year," Doug Shupe, Senior Public Affairs with AAA Auto Group said.
"Makes it a little easier to travel a little more."
"I was able to go to Dallas this weekend!"
No one can speculate what the prices will be like by the end of the summer.
"Because the market fluctuates so much it's really hard to predict where gas prices are going," Shupe said.
Many are just thankful for the slight relief.
