The southbound I-35 frontage road between S. FM 2837 in Lorena and Bruce Street in Bruceville-Eddy will be converted to one-way traffic in the southbound direction on Wednesday, February 5, 2014.

The current northbound lane will be closed to traffic initially to allow re-construction of the frontage road, but the conversion to one-way traffic in the southbound direction is permanent.

During the conversion, barricades and warning signs will be in place to prevent motorists from traveling in the wrong direction.

However, drivers are encouraged to use caution while traveling along this frontage road as motorists become accustomed to the new travel pattern.

The northbound and southbound rest areas in Bruceville-Eddy will also be closed permanently on February 5th.

New Safety Rest Areas have been constructed and opened just north of Abbott and south of Hillsboro on I-35.
