A Rockdale man was sentenced to 60 years in prison for first degree felony murder.

20th Judicial District Judge John W. Youngblood sentenced Stephen Lenard Daniell, 47, of Rockdale to sixty years after rejecting the defendant’s claim of “sudden passion”.

Bill Torrey prosecuted the case that was prepared by Rockdale Police Department.

In March, Daniell pleaded guilty to first degree felony murder for the May 6, 2012 shooting death of the woman he was reportedly residing with, Sheila Marie Owens.
