Suspect arrested after firing officer's gun
TEMPLE -- Police have released the name of a man who allegedly fired an officer's gun after stealing from a convenience store in Temple.
39-year-old Jeffrey Kindred of Temple is charged with attempted capital murder.
On Sunday police responded to a report of a man who stole cigarettes from a convenience store.
An officer spotted the suspect's getaway vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop when Kindred took off on foot.
When the chase stopped, Kindred grabbed the officer's gun and fired it.
Fortunately no one was injured.
Kindred is in the Bell County Jail.
