Temple Police investigating a bank robbery

Temple Police Department were called to a bank robbery at Compass Bank.

It happened around 11:51 a.m. on the 1300 block of South 31st Street.

Officers arrived on scene and learned that a man had entered the bank and displayed a handgun demanding money. After receiving money the man fled the scene in a newer model white vehicle traveling east on Avenue M.

The man is described as a black male, around 25 to 35 years of age, between 6'0" and 6'5" tall. He weighed between 170 to 190 pounds. The man was last seen wearing gloves, sunglasses, a light colored pull over hoodie with the word "SOUTHPOLE" and a number beginning with a "2" on the front, and dark colored pants.

The Temple Police Department's General Investigations Unit will be conducting a cooperative investigation into this robbery with agents from the FBI. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500.
