A Bell County jury has acquitted a teen of a 2012 murder charge.

Jurors deliberated for about 90 minutes before returning the not guilty verdict of Cedric J. Lilly, 18, who was charged with the murder of a 34-year-old Temple man.

Lilly was booked into the Bell County Jail on January  22, 2013, where he has been held in connection to the fatal shooting of Temple resident, Michael Lamar Green, 34.

On November 9, 2012, at about 9:20 p.m, Temple Police responded to a call at the 300 block of South 32nd Street. Upon arrival, officers found Temple Fire and Rescue trying to resuscitate Green in his home’s front room. Green was pronounced dead at the scene.

Temple PD identified a juvenile, Lilly, who was then 16, as a suspect on November 10, 2012. He was taken into juvenile detention that same day. Lilly was later transferred from juvenile detention to Bell County Jail where he was prosecuted as an adult.
