Texas man sentenced to 2 years in prison for slitting puppy's throat

Angelina County, TX (KETK) -- An East Texas man has been sentenced to two years in prison for admitting to slitting the throat of his ex-girlfriends puppy.

On Saturday, December 31, 2011, Jeremy Spencer AKA "Tramp", 33, of Zavalla, was arrested for cruelty to non-livestock animals stemming from a December 15, 2011, incident in which he admitted to slicing his then-girlfriend's puppy's throat.

According to Huntington Police Chief Bobby Epperly, authorities responded to a home on Gibson street on reports Spencer and his girlfriend were in a domestic dispute. It was then, Spencer admitted to cutting the two-month-old puppy's throat with his pocket knife.

Spencer was sentenced to two years in state jail after appearing in the court of District Judge Barry Bryan on Tuesday.
