Traffic stop leads to seizure of drugs, arrest of two men

A traffic stop leads to the seizure of drugs and two arrests.

It happened around 12:15 p.m. Friday when Waco Traffic Unit Officers were assisting the U.S. Marshal Task Force attempting to find a water suspect.

The investigation led to a stop in the 700 block of north 25th Street.

During that stop, officers found a substance in the vehicle and was discovered to be methamphetamine.

The two suspects in the vehicle were arrested and officers also found three ounces of crystalized methamphetamine, 33 morphine pills, and 30 generic Zanex pills.

Officers arrested Orlando Vences, 29, and Israel Cruz, 19, they both were charged with three counts each of possession of a controlled substance in a school zone.

Vences and Cruz were taken to the county jail.
