Killeen, TX — The Central Texas Regional Advisory Council and Baylor Scott & White Health hosted an Acute Care and Trauma Conference Wednesday in Killeen.
EMS providers, nurses and physicians from across the state attended Wednesday's seminar.
The conference was a way for get everybody up to speed on standards of emergency care.
Killeen Fire and EMS also practiced the landing of two local emergency helicopters nearby.
Organizers say it's important to have personnel across the area on the same page when vital help is needed.
“These are the people responding to you in the community. These are the people that, when you need help, they are coming to your rescue. We want to make sure that they are knowledgeable and that their practice is safe so that they can provide timely care to you in the best possible environment, and get you to treatment,' said Kelly Stowell of Baylor Scot & White Health.
Some of the other topics they talked about were large-scale disaster preparedness, radiation care, chest wall injuries and geriatric care.
