Two 18-wheeler fires wreaked havoc on Interstate 35 Wednesday.

The first came in the early morning when an 18-wheeler blew out a tire at exit 321 near Lorena.

A fire spread to the cargo which was a shipment of cowhide.

The fire was contained soon after and crews spent the day clearing the area.

Then just after 11 a.m., an 18-wheeler traveling south caught fire at exit 317.

Luckily, the driver was able to separate the cab from the trailer, but the incident backed up traffic for nearly six miles.

A hazmat crew was called out to clear the scene.

The truck driver suffered minor burns.
