Uptick in scams in Central Texas

CENTRAL TEXAS -- A warning about several new scams in the Central Texas area.

According to the Better Business Bureau, the latest scam involves callers collecting money for BMG Music Club which has been out of business for three years.

The calls are coming from an agency going by the name Tekhar Collection Services.

Another scam is targetting the elderly claiming their social security number is being changed and they need personal information.

A third con involves asphalt paving scams and prepaid money transfer cards known as MoneyPak cards.
