CNN — A Texas man is lucky to be alive after suffering a stroke.
He says his four-legged friend saved his life.
They say a dog is a man's best friend, but in the case of the Browns, their dog, Cookie, is also their Guardian Angel.
It's that same loyalty why Michael Wayne Brown is sitting in his home, alive.
Michael suffered a stroke.
" I fell in between the wall and the bed where nobody could find me," said Brown.
Nobody except for the dog that never leaves his side, Cookie.
"She would not leave my wife alone, she went in there and bit my wife," said Brown.
"And, I couldn't catch her, and she ran on the other side of the bed and that's when I found him not breathing," said Brown's wife.
This was Michael's second stroke and it would've ended in a nightmare if not for Cookie arriving not a second too late.
"I got to the hospital and the doctor asked me how'd you find him, and I told him. that's when the doctor told me you better be lucky that she wasn't around cause your own man wouldn't have been around," said Brown's wife.
This same dog that saved a life had no previous training, she's been by the couples side for t10 months since she was only three-days-old.
She's very well and a very good dog.
Michael says she now follows him wherever he goes, it gives him a reason to call Cookie more than a pet, but a daughter.
She gets anything she wants and she's been a constant reminder of how precious life is.
"If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have a husband today," said Brown's wife.
