Mitt Romney says it's time to move on from the controversy surrounding an MSNBC panel mocking a family Christmas card that showed him holding his adopted black grandchild.

Last week, MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry and panelists on her show made jokes at the expense of the Romney family.

Harris-Perry has since apologized.

"People make mistakes and the folks at MSNBC made a big mistake and they've apologized for it," said Romney. "And that's all you can ask for. I'm going to move on from it. I'm sure they want to move on from it. Look, I've made plenty of mistakes myself and they've apologized for this and I think we can go on from there."

For her part, Harris-Perry described the baby as "gorgeous" and joked that he would marry the daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

She offered a tearful apology on MSNBC, Saturday, for the segment.
