Waco, Texas (KWKT) — The Waco Convention Center (WCC) is pleased to once again host the Southwest Association of Turners 2013 Woodturning Symposium, taking place August 23-25.
The Southwest Association of Turners is one of the largest woodturning symposiums in the world. Comprised of members from Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, its goal is to provide a live forum for the education and skill development of those interested in woodturning. The symposium features nationally and internationally recognized turners, as well as regional turners to demonstrate their craft. There is also an Instant Gallery where members can display their work.
The Instant Gallery, located in McLennan Hall of the WCC, will be open to the public Friday 10 AM–3 PM, Saturday 8 AM–5 PM, and Sunday 8 AM–11 AM.
“We are very excited to have the Southwest Association of Turners return to our destination,” stated Elizabeth A. Taylor, Director for Waco & the Heart of Texas. “This event will generate a positive economic impact of over $1.6 million.”
