Today many of those animals are still missing.

Animal Control officers were unable to make entry into the disaster zone since officials were still trying to look for survivors.

The Waco Humane Society has plans to take in any animals found until they can be re-united with their rightful owner.

The Texas A&M Veterinary Emergency Response Team is also in West helping out.

The eleven member team is assisting to locate missing animals as well as help care for K9s used by first responders during the search and rescue efforts.
