Waco, TX — A Waco man is in the McLennan County Jail after an alleged shooting occurred late afternoon on Monday.
Police say two men got into a fight around apartments near South 11th Street and Interstate 35.
Witnesses say one of them during the fight pulled out a handgun and shot at the other man, who eventually got into a black car and drove away with a gunshot wound.
That’s when the shooter ran away across the pedestrian bridge on I-35.
He dropped the gun onto the freeway below.
Police spotted the man and arrested him.
As a result of their initial investigation, Nathan Antonio Parham, 23, was charged with five crimes including felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, criminal trespassing, evading arrest and tampering with evidence.
Police are now asking the shooting victim to come forward.
“At this point, if we have a victim that was either a victim of a physical assault, or is a shooting victim, certainly we would want that person to come forward and tell us what happened, and what led to this altercation," said Sgt. Patrick Swanton of Waco Police. "So far we have not had any luck getting that victim to do that.”
Until more information comes to light, Parham for the time being could be avoiding even more major charges like aggravated assault or even attempted murder.
If you have any information, please call Waco PD.
