A new pet ordinance will soon go into effect for the city of Waco.

Waco city council voted that all pets older than four months old must be spayed or neutered and be micro-chipped.

The purpose of the new legislation is to cut down on the number of strays and those who have to be put to death. The city plans to start issuing citations for violators in the new year.

It may take up to a few years to see large changes in the overpopulation of strays.

Wow, it's about time for this. Thanks Waco City Council.

B.S. about euthanizing, at least the cats. I know for a fact they catch, spay or neuter and release. This is just another way for the city government to make money. What the hell are they going to do, go house to house to make sure that they conform to the city's BS ordinance? Glad I no longer live in Waco. Complete BS. Vote those sorry SOB's out of office.
