Waco police respond to fire while family still inside

Waco police and fire responded to a call smoke coming out of a house at 3300 Lyle Ave around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

According to Waco Police Sgt. Patrick Swanton, when officers arrived on scene a family of four was still inside the home at the time. The family members told officers that they had no idea their house was on fire. Officers were able to get all four family members out of their home safely and no one was hurt.
Waco P.D had to temporary close down traffic on MacArthur drive until firefighters were able to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
