The Waco Salvation Army says they need your help now more than ever.
With the end of summer, the organization says their food supply has drastically declined. Local businesses have pitched in to help meet some of the food pantry's needs by bringing in donations this week. However, the demand for food is constant.
Salvation Army officials tell us they provide food to around ten families every day free of charge. And, with the holidays approaching, the need for food is endless.
"It's just wonderful to live in a community where people care so much about the people that are in tough situations. The fact is, it could happen to any of us. We're so thankful that people recognize that," said Major Dan Ford, Regional Director of Salvation Army Services for McLennan County.
Donations of non-perishable items such as pasta, cereal, and canned meat are accepted during regular business hours, six days a week.
