Waco Police Department assisted the U.S. Marshal Task Force in arresting a wanted fugitive Thursday afternoon.

According to Waco Police, officers located 31-year-old Juan Mario Arredondo inside of an SUV in the 3100 block of East Edmond Avenue around 4:30 p.m. When officers tried to approach Arredondo, he reportedly drove off. However, almost immediately after driving off, Arredondo crashed into a creek and attempted to run off. Marshals chased the fugitive down and were able to arrest him.

Arredondo had been wanted for an illegal re-entry warrant from the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. Warrant assistance was requested by ICE due to the violent past criminal history of Arredondo.
