It's been nearly a year since the West Fertilizer Plant explosion devastated the town of West, but now we're told clean up is just about finished.

Thanks to hundreds of volunteers coming in during spring break to help with home repairs, debris clean up, and more, the clean up effort is nearly done. West TX Foundation says now rebuilding needs to take place. Plans to rebuild the intermediate and high schools are already underway.

Another project in the works is Parker's Park. Parker Pustejovsky is the four-year-old son of West firefighter, Joey Pustejovsky, who was killed in the blast. In his father's honor, Parker has been raising funds to rebuild West City Park, which was destroyed in the explosion. A fundraiser and auction for Parker's Park Project will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 2 p.m. at the West Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 2547 Jerry Mashek Drive.
