Woman dies after Sunday afternoon fire in Waco
Waco, TX (KWKT) — Waco Police Department responded Sunday afternoon to 2111 North 21st street at 4:25 p.m, on reports of a fire.
The Waco Police Department joined the Waco Fire Department in reference to the incident.
Officers from Waco Fire discovered a woman that had been badly burned in the bathroom area of her home.
The victim, Yanika Nicole Davis, 34, was burned severely during the fire. Ms. Davis was initially transported to Hillcrest Hospital and later transferred to Parkland in Dallas where she died from her injuries last night about 10:10 p.m.
Waco Fire Investigators and the Waco P.D. Special Crimes Unit are investigating the case. Police are working it as a questionable death. As of now there are no obvious signs of foul play. Crime Scene Unit and Victim Services responded to the scene as well.
The family has been notified of the death.
