Tuesday, February 12, 2013 - 1:29pm

Waco police arrested a man and woman Sunday night after finding various drugs in their possession during a traffic stop.

Police report the stop happened at New Road Inn, at the intersection of Interstate 35 and New Road around 9:30 p.m. Sunday night. Ronald Kim Arellano, 42, and Amy Annette Rogers, 30, were the two occupants inside of the car.

Arellano reportedly was trying to hide a knife. During the stop, officers searched Arellano for weapons, revealing that he had a meth pipe and a bag, which was suspected to be containing meth. Arellano then reportedly ran from police, causing them to chase and taze him after a brief struggle with officers.

Arellano is charged with possession of a controlled substance, over four grams, evading arrest, resisting arrest, and he is being held on a parole violation.

Police reportedly found meth and two different types of prescription drugs, without prescriptions, with Rogers. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of dangerous drugs charges.
