KWKT — “The 2nd annual Harker Heights Holiday Farmers Market is set for Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Activities Center, 400 Indian Trail from 8:00am-12:00pm. The Holiday Farmers Market is the best venue to find those unique holiday gifts. Vendors will offer handmade crafts, pies and fall fruits and veggies. All the products offered at the Harker Heights Holiday Farmers Market are 100% locally grown and hand crafted. Majority of the vendors are from Harker Heights, Killeen and Temple.
“The Holiday Farmers Market is the perfect opportunity to buy those unique Texas gifts to send to friends and family out of state. Local vendors get the chance to showcase their skills and talents,” said Heather Cox, Activities Center Coordinator.
This year’s Market goers will have the opportunity to have their gifts wrapped. The Harker Heights Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a gift wrapping fundraiser to benefit the children of the Giving Tree. In partnership with H.A.R.P (Homeless Awareness & Response Program) the Parks & Recreation Department will be buying gifts for students who would otherwise go without this holiday season. We hope to see you there! Cash is the preferred form of payment. To learn how you can adopt a H.A.R.P student from the giving tree or for more information on the Harker Heights Holiday Farmers Market visit www.ci.harker-heights.tx.us/parks or call 254-953-5493.”
