Killeen approves $139M water plan

Killeen, TX — The city of Killeen saw a 40 percent population growth from 2000 to 2010.

And as the population rises, the need for adequate water rises too.

That’s why the Killeen City Council approved a 20 year, 139-million dollar master plan for the city last night.

Killeen’s mayor Daniel Corbin says a well thought-out plan is key to acquiring a better interest rate for the needed bonds.

The money would enhance water distribution capabilities as well as sewage
infrastructure.

The bonds received are paid for by residents via water and sewage taxes.
