Individualized needs for students
Temple, TX — School districts are constantly using technology to assist in the education of kids and now Temple ISD is rolling out a new system to help individualize student's needs.
As part of a Texas grant called Texas SUCCESS, Temple ISD is introducing two new online programs- One for reading and one for math.
Students take tests and are then notified what areas need to be worked on. This means no more waiting for parents wanting to see the progress report of their kids.
They can now log on and see exactly what the teacher sees.
“A lot of times parents really want to help their children, but they don't know exactly what to do instructionally in supporting them,” said Dr. Bobby Ott, Temple ISD’s Assistant Superintendent. “Many times parents just take the teacher's work and expand on that but now they have a bevy of interventions that they can pull from."
The program is currently for Temple students in grades 3 through 8.
