Two weeks after vandalism

Waco, TX — It's been more than two weeks since the historic Oakwood Cemetery was vandalized overnight.
And for an update, there's good news, and there's bad news.
David Evans is the manager of Oakwood. Before that,
his father oversaw the cemetery for 40 years.
You can understand David's frustration when he found out about the cemetery's vandalism late last month.
"It's hard to understand why," said Evans. "I don't know if there is a good reason as to why somebody would disrespect a cemetery like that."
Waco CrimeStoppers put up a $1,000 reward and local
residents and businesses have donated to the cause too.
The reward is now more than $5,000.
"People care about Oakwood Cemetery. But they're also people who are donating who don't have family in Oakwood Cemetery. They feel like these people should be caught," said Evans
The bad news is that nobody has yet been charged of the crime. The good news is that the damage is less extensive than first thought.
"After further evaluation, it was determined as we first thought, there are a handful of monuments that are damaged and broken and need to be restored and the restoration has already started," said Evans.
If you have any information about the incident that happened the early morning of Saturday, January 26th, you are urged to call Waco PD.
