COLLEGE STATION, Tx (KYLE) — With new development popping up left and right in the Northgate District, the big question is now, will there be enough water to service everyone?
About five years ago the city updated and tweaked their water master plan.
Back then they had no idea the Northgate District would see such a boom in development and now with an additional 5,000 new residents planning to call Northgate home, the city has had to re-look at its plans to ensure there is enough water to meet the increased demands.
"We will meet the criteria for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for pressures," said Water Services director, David Coleman. "So we know that the water lines we have at this time will be good to service the new development that are on going right now."
However, down the road if growth continues at this pace; a major water line will have to be added within the next few years to keep up with the increasing needs.
