Temple, TX — A new option for Temple residents who need prescriptions filled at night is now available through Scott & White Pharmacy at the Temple Center for Diagnostic Medicine on South 31st St.
There hasn’t been an option in town for people who need medication during the night.
The hospital sees its highest volume of emergency and urgent care patients between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Patients who needed emergency medication at night in the past had to go to Waco, Killeen, or wait until the morning altogether.
The pharmacy is now open until midnight seven days a week.
Doctors say the new hours aren’t just for convenience either.
“Pain medicine is for comfort, but some of the other medications, like antibiotics, are important to get on a schedule with your body. So this way, having them get their prescriptions early in the evening time, rather than the next morning, will keep them on that schedule," said Robert Greenberg, a physician at Scott & White Healthcare.
The pharmacy can fill prescriptions from all doctors- not just those from Scott & White.
