KILLEEN, TX — Killeen Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting on Hitchrock Drive.
According to police, officers received a 911 call at 1:22 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, advising them that a male had just been shot in the 3800 block of Hitchrock Drive. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located a 20-year-old male, suffering from a gunshot wound.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the male victim and a female were walking when a black male, wearing a red hoodie and red bandana, riding a bicycle approached them. The suspect demanded money from the victim, and when the victim did not hand over any money the suspect shot him and fled on his bicycle south on Hitchrock Drive.
The victim was air lifted in to Scott and White Memorial Hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition.
