COLLEGE STATION, Tx (KYLE) — A seven-month pregnant vet staff member at the Texas A&M Small Animal clinic is assaulted while trying to care for the assailant's dog.
University Police tell us they received a call Sunday afternoon about an assault at the Small Animal Clinic.
When they arrived officers found a technical staff member with cuts on her face.
We're told at the time of the assault the victim was feeding the animal a treat in an attempt to place a muzzle on the dog when the owner became irate.
That's when the owner, Janet Davis, punched the victim in the face twice.
Associate Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Kenita Rogers said, "Very unusual event. I've been here at the University and the Small Animal Hospital for 30 years and this is the first incident like this that I know about directly."
Police are investigating.
Davis was arrested and charged with assault and bodily injury.
