Waco and West, TX — In Waco, the Interstate 35 southbound entrance ramp from MLK Blvd. will be closed from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013.
The southbound auxiliary lane and the right travel lane will also be closed.
The exit ramp to University Parks will remain open.
Signs will be placed to alert drivers of the traffic detour and closure.
In West, the FM 2114/Oak Street at I-35 will be closed to eastbound and westbound through traffic on Thursday, October 3.
Closure is necessary to allow removal of the old southbound I-35 mainlane bridge.
To ensure the safety of motorists, traffic cannot be allowed through the area.
Through traffic on FM 2114/Oak St. will be detoured to the north on the frontage road to Marable Street or south on the frontage road to FM 1858/Tokio Road.
Main lanes will not be affected because southbound traffic has already been moved to the new mainlanes.
Detour signs will be in place.
Southbound drivers wanting to access businesses at the 2114 and Oak Street intersection (including the Czech Stop, Sonic, etc.), will have to take the detour to Tokio Road and turn back north to the FM 2114/Oak St. intersection.
Northbound access to that intersection will be normal.
Signs will be in place to notify drivers of the temporary route change.
