FORT HOOD -- Local Iraq Veterans Against the War are coming forward. This after trying to contact Fort Hood Lt. Gen. Campbell several times with no reply.
They set up an actual watch tower Thursday on Fort Hood St. to let the General know they want him to do more when it comes to soldier health.
The Iraq war veterans say they want to meet with Campbell to discuss untreated trauma and the redeployment of those soldiers.
"The return process home is a long journey, but what's important is that our brothers and sisters have the right to heal. On the military post currently, a lot of them aren't being allowed to heal, and they're being redeployed with these issues," says veteran Aaron Hughes.
The group of veterans spoke out about their personal experiences with PTSD and other health problems.
They say without addressing the problem, it will only result in more suicide cases.
