WACO -- Tonight of course is Halloween and it can be an especially spooky time for your pets.
With several people out and about, all the traffic can frighten your best pals.
Kristin Dodson, a veterinarian at Hewitt Animal Hospital, said this is a night to keep your pets on a leash while trick-or-treaters flock to your doorsteps.
But the most important tip to remember -- hide the candy.
"Make sure you keep all that candy that the kids bring home out of their reach. So, high enough, you know, on top of the refridgerator or something where the dogs can't get to it. If they could get in and eat that whole bag of candy that can make them pretty sick," said Dodson.
Dodson also said it's especially important to keep your feline friends indoors with all of the vehicles out.
