COLLEGE STATION -- This weekend marks the inaugural BCS Marathon and police say if you plan on running errands, heads up. You're going to experience some major road closures.
The marathon begins Sunday morning but some of the roads will be shut down Saturday night in preparation for the start of the race.
Major streets affected include: Holleman Drive, Dartmouth and the Highway six feeder road and Rhonda Seaton, with College Station police, say drivers should avoid the area if possible and be prepared to stop for runners.
"This is an Olympic and Boston Marathon qualifying event and as a result, unless it's some type of extremely out of the box circumstance, our officers won't will not stop the runners and so if you are in a vehicle, realize you are going to have to wait."
Seaton says some of the smaller roads will open back up after all the runners have passed through.
